The Rundown: Rennie finally begins to feel comfortable, but the world outside her school keeps pushing her to dark places.

After getting revenge on a group of frat boys, Rennie finds a sense of peace when she goes back to school and finds herself as a finalist for a prestigious internship as well as praise from her mentor as she presents her projects for her midterm exams. She begins to come out of her shell more with her friends and her itching has stopped.

As things continue to go well, a personal issue with her friend begins to cause her stress. Things get worse when her friend’s boyfriend does something inappropriate and her class rival does something that pushes Rennie over the edge and in the mind frame for murder.

The Story: Wagner continues to create a fun, dark and entertaining story in this issue. Rennie continues to grow and evolve as a character and her action have some interesting consequences that I like seeing explored. I like the nature of the interpersonal conflicts within the story as well and I enjoyed seeing the tension build throughout the issue as I look forward to seeing what happens when that tension boils over.

The Art: Hillyard crafts some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. I love Hillyard’s art style and how emotive the characters are as well as how the art enhances the tension.
